Empathy-based medicine manual
The book «Empathy-based medicine manual (or a handful of things that nobody told us at university)», is a very personal project by Patricia Barrio, in which she narrates small stories, reflections and experiences during her stay in Germany. There, 1,600 km away from her children and with a very basic knowledge of the language, she completed a fellowship specialising in paediatric neurosurgery.
The edition is very carefully edited and has a moleskine format with rounded edges. The book combines text with ‘instagram-style’ photographs taken by the author as well as small, lighthearted graphic motifs that accompany each page and reinforce the meaning of the stories.
Reflecting Patricia’s memory and feelings on every page became a challenge and satisfaction at every step.
