Oviedo, crossroads
The theme of the Oviedo pavilion at the 2018 Asturias International Trade Fair was the Camino de Santiago (St. James’ Way), which crosses this city on two of its routes. ‘Oviedo, crossroads’ is the concept that links all the contents of the stand: the lines (graphic, architectural and projected on video) cross, structuring and unifying the entire space, from the brand to the last of its contents.
The main protagonists of the 1200 m² pavilion are a central building with irregular walls formed by several white cubes and a 42 m² projection screen, unique in the fair due to its dimensions. On these elements we projected videos that, on the one hand, show us El Camino de Santiago in its two aspects: the historical and the socio-economic. And on the other hand, the projects of the future urban reality of the city of Oviedo (HUCAMP! – Old HUCA in El Cristo-, bicycle lane and the Santuyano Boulevard).
El Camino de Santiago is the central motif of the pavilion, but other paths emanate from it:
• The path of talent and innovation
• The path of entrepreneurship and employment
• The path of the sustainable city
• The path of flavours
• The path of sport and childhood
The interior of the cube is dedicated to the sections that develop talent, innovation, entrepreneurship and active employment policies in Oviedo, with special emphasis on the Coworking Space of the Talud de la Ería and the Health Sciences Incubator (VIVARIUM) which, by means of a 3D printer and augmented reality elements, show ‘in situ’ how new technologies are nowadays at the service of health and knowledge.

Another attraction is the discovery, through a virtual reality experience, of the flavours of Oviedo and Asturian gastronomy.
The space is completed by large panels with the three pre-Romanesque monuments of the city declared World Heritage by UNESCO, a disc golf course, a children’s area and a large stage for talks, presentations and concerts.
