Taramundi

Navallas de Taramundi and La Cuchillería de Taramundi have joined forces to create the Taramundi brand.

Traditionally, a mark is an inscription placed on the blade or handle of knives, blades, and scissors to identify the maker. These were usually individual or family marks, consisting of the initial of the first name, the first and last name, or the initial of the first name and the full last name, typically accompanied by the word “TARAMUNDI.” In other cases, they were collective marks, such as the letter A, sometimes surrounded by dots, sometimes by hyphens, and sometimes without any markings at all.

In the past, some artisans, lacking formal training and knowledge of the alphabet, curiously created blades marked with letters placed in reverse.

To create the TARAMUNDI brand, these concepts are worked on, creating a logo whose typography is based on those used in the marks of the cutting blades and in which a nod is made to the anecdote mentioned above by turning the N upside down. The imagotype arises from the upside-down N that is surrounded by dots in the line of the A of so many brands.
